Procedure

Step 1

Sew accoridng to the pattern (fig. no. 1a). Always startwith the widest row in the pattern (marked in the pattern with the red dot and number 1). Sew the first row of hte butterfly as depicted (fig. no. 1b).

Step 2

Cut off about 1.5 m of the line. Then string 2x rocailles, pull them to the end of the line and tie a double knot (fig. nos. 2a-2b).
Sew a strip as depicted (fig. no. 1b) using fourteen colorful rocailles (fig. nos. 2c – 2g). Follow the pattern (fig. no. 1a).

Step 3

String 1x rocaille in the second row, pass the needle unde rthe line between the last two rocialles (fig. no. 3a). Then pass it through the newly added rocailles in the upwards direction (fig. nos. 3b-3d). then proceed in the same manner to the end of the row (fig. nos. 3d-3g). Follow the pattern (fig. no. 1a).

Step 4

Sew the third row similarly to the previous rows (fig. no. 4a). Caution: start the 4th row at the 2nd rocaille, but first sew through the previous row so that you emerge in 2nd rocaille (fig. no. 4b-d). Follow the pattern (fig. no. 1a).

Step 5

In the 5th row, you have to string two rocailes at the start of the row (fig. no. 5a) and then pass the needle upwards through the 2nd added rocaille (fig. no. 5b). Then sew accoridng to the pattern (fig. no. 1a) and at the end of the row sew the last rocaille to the same place where you sewed on the previous row (fig. nos. 5c-5d).

Step 6

In the 6th row, once again string two rocailles at the start of the row (fig. no. 6a), then sew three rocailles one at a time (fig. no. 6b) before passing the needle through the rocailles in the lower row so that you skip one rocaille (fig. no. 6c). Then sew one rocaille at a time accoridng to the pattern and sew through the two rocailles at the end of the row again (fig. nos. 6d-6e).

Sew the 7th row – part of the butterfly's wing (fig. no. 7a) according to the pattern (fig. no. 1a). Then sew through lower rows and sew the second half of the wing (fig. nos. 7b-7d).

Step 8

Proceed in a similar manner and complete the lower part of the wing (fig. nos. 8a-8b).

Step 9

Work your way through the rocailles to the 1st row (fig. nos. 9a). Sew into the gaps according to the pattern (where the central rocaille is omitted), (fig. nos. 9b-9c). Pass through the rocailles so that you emerge from the 2nd rocaille in the 9th row and sew the 10th row and then the 11th row with the first half of the wing (fig. nos. 9d-9e). Work your way through the rocailles back to the 8th row and sew the second half of the wing (fig. nos. 9f-9g). Tie off several knots, work your through several rows and then cut off the line.

Step 10

New sew the ring as depicted (fig. no. 10a). String 3 rocailles, pull them to the end of the line, skip one rocaille, pass through the first one and tie a double knot (fig. nos. 10b-10c). Then sew on one rocaille at a time untilk you reach the desired circumference of the ring (fig. nos. 10d-10f). Then sew the ends of the ring to each others (fig. nos. 10g-10i). Sew the butterfly to to the ring (fig. nos. 10j-10k).
