The glass artist Anna Martinková focusses her work on traditional hand-worked glass. She also dedicated herself to design during her studies, but she now tends more towards the path of applied art and looks for connections between geometry, mathematics and symbolism with historical styles in her work.
She comes from North Moravia, but has lived in Bohemia for more than 30 years. She has been engaged in various types of handcrafts since her childhood, when she was most taken with crocheting, knitting and sewing.
She dyes fabric with avocado stones and then embroiders her dresses with Czech seed beads. Andrea Vytlačilová, a talented student at Central Saint Martins in London, has returned to her Czech roots and traditions in her clothing collection.
