Czech seed beads in the shape of rounded cylinders (known as PRECIOSA Ersatz and PRECIOSA Longsatz) which are produced using similar technology to that used of other types of seed beads, i.e. by cutting glass tubes with a round or square hole.
PRECIOSA Ersatz is a slightly rounded cylinder in which the length is equal to the diameter. It is made in the sizes 2 – 4 mm in transparent and opaque colors.
The larger sizes of this seed bead from 4.5 to 7.7 mm are available only under the PRECIOSA Rola™ Quality-Cut Seed Bead (Art. No. 341 59 001).
PRECIOSA Longsatz is a slightly rounded bugle in which the length is bigger than the diameter. It is made in two sizes 3.3 x 2.2 mm and 6.6 x 2.2 mm and only in opaque colors.
The names of these interesting seed beads come from German and these names are also used unchanged in Czech and other languages.
