We present yet another in our range of unmissable accessories. Once again, we have take inspiration from nature and have used our elongated PRECIOSA Thorn™ beads and rocailles to create a necklace pendant which is similar to a sea urchin.
The sophisticated combination of PRECIOSA Thorn™ beads and rocailles helps to create the effect of the spines of a sea urchin. It is not a good idea to handle a sea urchin's spines without caution, but this particular version of the creature has its own magic. Just like an urchin on the floor of the crystal clear sea, your handmade sea urchin pendant mounted on a simple hoop will stand out as an unmissable necklace. Choose your color shade and the color combination of the rocailles and Thorns. Take inspiration from the color shades of the sea or the creatures which live in it.
PRECIOSA ORNELA wishes you much enjoyment and many beautiful creations.

hanging rings (3x); a hoop
a 0.18 mm line (the length depends on how long a line you are able to work with: it is possible to tie on more line); a sewing needle; scissors; flat nose pliers
Step 1:
String 21x R onto the line.
Step 2:
Now return with the needle upwards through the ninth, last added, R.
Step 3:
String 5x R, count off five rocailles on the left side and thread the needle upwards through the sixth free rocaille.
Step 4:
Once again, string 5x R, count off five rocailles on the left-hand side and thread the needle upwards through the sixth, and at the same time the last free, rocaille.
Step 5:
String 5x R and thread the needle downwards through the third free rocaille on the left side.
Step 6:
In order to create a net, continue to add 5x R and thread the needle through the third free rocaille on the left side, either upwards or downwards depending on the direction you happen to be moving in. Carefully tighten the stringing.
Step 7:
You will need 3x R, 1x Th and 3x R to sew the net.
Step 8:
Only sew through the so-called centres, so that you have three Thorns in each row.
Step 9:
Once you have sewn through the entire net in the centres, you are finished.
Step 10:
All that remains is to attach the rings to the outer loops using the pliers and to hang it on the hoop.
