In January 2011, the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou hosted the JABLONEC 2011 fashion show where leading Czech fashion and costume jewellery designers, the Applied Art Secondary School and other educational facilities displayed their creations. The fashion show opened the project of the JABLONEC 2011 Clothing and Accessories International Triennial.
The fashion show’s theme was Man’s Adornments from Prehistory to the Present. The basic concept for the fashion show and the exhibition involved the presentation of the costume jewellery and glassmaking traditions divided into sections depicting History, the Present and the Future. The Museum made use of the unique Waldes collection when creating the History section (adornments from prehistory through to the 20th century). The Present section was created by work teams consisting of professional fashion and costume jewellery designers, whereby the integral component was costume jewellery. This jewellery featured seed beads by Preciosa Ornela on several occasions. An example of this was the piece designed by A. Kodoňová. The Future section was in the hands of the students of the Applied Art Secondary school and other specialist schools and universities who took their inspiration from history and presented their clothes for the future.
