All glass medals and trophies from Preciosa Ornela have been given out and the legendary Jizerská 50 is behind us!
Yet another year of the legendary Jizerská 50 race has been completed and it once again provided excellent sports performances, unforgettable moments and the unique atmosphere that only this race can offer up every year. Despite the changeable conditions, 8,413 participants from 31 countries, including elite racers and well-known personalities, lined up on the starting line for 8 races over 4 days in order to conquer the famous track in the heart of the Jizera Mountains. The Jizerská 50 achieved 1097 media releases throughout the event itself and 4411 media releases in total.
Racers who achieve podium finishes have received the glass trophies.

The exceptional nature of the 58th year of the Jizerská 50 was underlined by handmade glass medals and artistic glass trophies from Preciosa Ornela.
The 9,500 medals that adorned every racer in the Jizerská 50 were manufactured at the Preciosa Ornela factory in Desná in the foothills of the Jizera Mountains. The winners of the individual races received glass trophies, of which 50 were produced. Preciosa Ornela thus became an official partner of the 58th year of the Jizerská 50.
The medals and trophies met with great acclaim among the racers and fans alike. Their precise design, fine details and quality workmanship accentuated the unique nature of the awards. The glass medals and trophies not only became a proud symbol of sporting success, but also a unique souvenir for those who received them.
THANKS TO THE MASTER GLASS MAKERS FROM THE RANKS OF OUR EMPLOYEES
A great deal of thanks is due to all the employees at Preciosa Ornela, who contributed to the production of the glass medals and trophies. Their precise work, sense of detail and commitment to the glassmaker’s craft provided the winners with unique awards that will always be a reminder of their successes.
A great deal of thanks also goes to the participants from the ranks of our employees who lined up at the start and thus contributed to the unrepeatable atmosphere of the Jizerská 50. Preciosa was officially represented in the main Jizerská 50 race on Sunday by the Preciosa Ornela team consisting of Tomáš Strnad, Pavel Krásl, Zbyšek Lhota and Štěpán Lhota, all of whom had excellent results: Zbyšek Lhota – 2:24:25, Tomáš Strnad – 2:34:17, Štěpán Lhota – 2:42:52 and Pavel Krásl – 3:21:18. Congratulations! Jakub Juklíček from Preciosa Ornela is due a vote of thanks for his representation of the company in the Bedřichov 30 race on Thursday.
Preciosa’s colors were also to be found at the start of the company relay. The company relay team consisting of Eva Klusáčková from Preciosa Beauty and Matěj Hájek, Marek Bernát and Michal Francke from Preciosa Components finished with excellent times in 23rd place out of a total of 71 teams. They have our thanks and also our congratulations! Many others of our colleagues also set off on the route of the largest celebration of cross-country skiing in this country. We would like to congratulate all the participants on taking part and achieving excellent personal times!
Thanks is also due the Marketing team at Preciosa Ornela, which worked closely with the organisers of the Jizerská 50 and ensured that our company was excellently presented at this prestigious race.
