Materials

A circular headband; 0.30 mm and 0.40 mm binding wire

Tools

A 0.20 mm nylon line; scissors; snipping pliers, flat-nose pliers, a ruler

Procedure

Step 1

Snip off about 1.5 m of 0.30 mm binding wire. Twist a few loops around the point of the pliers at the end of the wire. They will secure the IM against falling off. String 46x IM.

Step 2

Measure off about 7.7 cm from the end of the circular headband (you can mark it lightly). Start twisting the wire around the headband about 15 cm from the strung IM. First, twist just the wire around the headband 4 times. Then push up about 8x IM and twist the wire around the headband in the gaps between them. Push up more IM. Continue in this way until there are no more IM left.

Step 3

Twist the wire around the wire from the IM and the circular headband 2 more times. Then twist the wire around just the headband 3 more times. Snip off the securing loops from the end with the IM. Thread the wire through the IM and twist it between them 5 times. Also thread the twisted wire through the IM and twist it between 5 times, but crosswise across the end of the wire from the IM. Snip off any excess.

Step 4

Mark the centre of the headband by threading a piece of wire or thread between the IM.

Step 5

Snip off about 0.80 m of 0.40 mm binding wire. Count off 4x IM from the centre. Thread the wire through the gap after 4 IM. Leave about 15 cm of wire protruding downwards. String 20x IM onto the other end. Thread the wire through the gap after 5 IM. Create a droplet. Press it to the circular headband. Leave a wider section for the C6 at the top. Twist the wire around the circular headband. Thread the wire through the gap after 6 IM. Now thread the wire through the gap after 7 IM, but do not twist the wire. Lead it forward under the the IM. Tighten the wire using the flat-nose pliers.

Step 6

String 18x IM. Twist the wire in the gaps, first around the circular headband and then in front and shape the droplet as in Step 5. String 16x IM. Twist and shape them. String 14x IM. Twist and shape them. String 12x IM.

Step 7

Twist the wire around the headband behind the 12^th IM and thread it through the gaps between the IM 4x. Twist the initial end of the wire and thread it through 3x.

Now create the other side.

Fill the wider section of the droplets with C6. Attach them in the gaps between the IM using a nylon line. String the C6. Twist the line around the gap. Return to the C6. Also twist the second end of the line in the opposite gap. Tie off both ends of the line with two knots. Pass one through the C6 once again. Carefully pull the knot into the hole by pulling on the line. Cut the end off.

Step 10

Use the binding wire to connect the neighbouring droplets. Twist the centre of the wire once in the gap between the IM. Bring both ends to the neighbouring droplet and twist each end on the opposite gap one more time. From the centre; twist the wire onto the largest droplet between the 5^th and 6^th IM and the second droplet between the 6^th and 7^th IM. The second between the 4^th and 5^th IM with the third between 5^th and 6^th IM. The third between the 3^rd and 4^th IM with the fourth between the 4^th and 5^thIM. Finally, the fourth and the fifth in the gap between the 3^rdand the 4^th IM.

Step 11

Connect the largest droplets. Twist a wire at the side of the wider section. String 1x IM onto both ends. Tighten. Twist the wires onto the second droplet. Twist the second wire three beads lower. String 6x IM. Twist the wire in the same place on the adjacent droplet.

Step 12

Add a C1. Work with the line in the same way as for the C6. Place the C1 so that its holes are vertical. Fasten it to the droplets and on the arches between them.
