Necklace of Rings Made with Three Sizes of PRECIOSA Candy™

Materials

Gold: 6 mm and 4 mm rings; end caps with loops; lobster claw clasp; extension chain 

Tools

Nylon thread 0.20 mm; thin needle; scissors; flat pliers (for flattening the thread end, working with the rings, etc.); pliers for cutting; a delicate beige ribbon 0.7 cm; thin tailor‘s thread

Procedure

Rings Made with 6 mm PRECIOSA Candy™

Step 1

Alternating beads, thread 7 C1 and 7 R. The larger side of the C1 should all be facing the same way (outward).

Step 2

Thread all the beads one more time and then tighten. Tie two knots. Pull the ends of the thread through several C1 and R and then trim the ends.

Thread the empty outer C1 holes, adding 3 R in between each C1.

Step 5

 Thread 6 pieces of C2. Make sure all C2 are oriented correctly.

Thread the beads once again then tighten.Tie off and finish.

Thread the empty outer C2 holes, adding 5 R in between each C2.

Thread all the beads two more times (for a total of 3). Tighten, tie off and finish.

Thread 5 C3. Make sure all C3 are oriented correctly.

Thread everything two more times (total of 3). Tighten. Tie off and finish.

Linking the Rings 

Step 13

Connect adjacent bead rings with two 8mm metal rings. Open the metal ring. Thread the rocaille of both bead rings and close the metal ring. Divide the bead rings visually into two sides. Use the spaces between them to link or add to the bead rings. Three C1 rings will be at the top, four will be at the bottom. Divide the C2 rings. Two C3 rings will be at the top, three will be at the bottom.

Completion

Step 14

Cut off 30 cm of ribbon. Thread through the outer rings. Adjust the ribbon so that the necklace is hanging in the middle evenly. Wrap the ends of the ribbon with the thin tailor’s thread. Tighten the thread and tie it off. Cut off the excess tailor’s thread. Put some glue into one barrel end cap. Place one thread-wound ribbon end into the cap. Allow to dry. Repeat with the other ribbon end and cap.

Step 15

Snip off 15 cm of the extension chain. Using 4mm metal rings attach both ends of the chain to one ribbon end. Add the lobster claw clasp to the other end of the necklace.
