Presenting the attractive PRECIOSA Tubes Seed Beads in new extended lengths.These Czech seed beads from the traditional range of PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads™ are shaped as cylinders with a circular hole. In addition to the standard sizes for these cut seed beads, we now also offer three further sizes, specifically 40 x 3 mm, 50 x 3 mm and 60 x 3 mm which you can use to create these autumnal earrings.

A needle; a thread; scissors

Procedure

Step 1

String 2x R7 onto the thread, pull them to the end of the thread and tie a knot (fig. no. 1a). String a further R7 onto the needle, thread the needle through the neighbouring R7 (fig. no. 1b) and then head diagonally through the added R7 (fig. no. 1c). Sew a band of 7x R7 in this way (fig. no. 1d).

Step 2

Sew back through all the R7 (fig. no. 2a). String a further R7 onto the needle, thread the needle under the thread between the first and second R7 from the first row (fig. no. 2b) and then thread it upwards through the added R7 (fig. nos. 2c-2d). String another R7 onto the needle, thread the needle under the thread between the second and third R7 in the first row (fig. no. 2e) and then thread it upwards through the added R7 (fig. nos. 2f). Add all of the R7 to the second row in the same way (fig. no. 2g).

Step 3

Use the procedure from Step 2 in the following 4 rows according to the illustrations (fig. no. 3a). String 4x R10 and make a loop which you will later use to attach the earring hook (fig. no. 3b).

Step 4

String 3x R10 and thread the needle through the neighbouring R7 (fig. no. 4a). Work through the R7 to the 4th row and sew on 2x R7 so that the shape of a bow is created (fig. no. 4b-4e). Make two more bows between the fourth and second rows in the same way (fig. no. 4f).

Step 5

Emerge from the last R7 in the lower row. String an R10, R7, T6, R10, 9x R7, R10, T6, R7 and R10 and thread the needle upwards through the R7 on the opposite side (fig. no. 5a). Then pass downwards through the neighbouring R7 and string a further group of R10, R7, T5, R10, 7x R7, R10, T5, R7 and R10 seed beads. Thread the needle upwards through the R7 to the opposite side and then downwards to the neighbouring R7. String an R10, R7, T4, R10, 5x R7, R10, T4, R7 and R10 and pass the needdle upwards through the R7 to the opposite side (fig. no. 5b).

Step 6

Sew an FPB onto the R7 in the middle of the row: string an R10, R7, R10, FPB and R10 and then leave out the R10 and return through all of the beads to the R7 in the middle of the row (fig. no. 6a). String an earring hook into the top loop and the earring is finished (fig. no. 6b). Make the second earring in the same way (fig. no. 6c-6d).
