She has been independently involved in the creation of painted glass, especially copies of historical designs. She creates unique compositions of natural motifs using bobbin lace.
Eva Olivová was born on 27th December 1937 in Pardubice. She studied glass painting at the Glass Applied Arts Secondary School in Železný Brod under Professor Stanislav Libenský. She then worked as a designer for Borské sklo in Nový Bor from 1957 to 1966. After that, she designed glassware at Sklárny Bohemia in Poděbrady until 1971. She graduated from a two-year course in bobbin lacemaking (1974 – 1976) at the Educational Institute of Artistic Production in Prague.
At present, she is using an original glass mosaic technique in stained glass. Her workshop creates precise realistic mosaics made from small glass seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads brand.
