Lea Baláková Paličková

Beadworking is first and foremost a way of relaxing for her and an outlet for her slumbering imagination. There is nothing better after a long day stuck in front of a computer at work than to sit down with these small glass products and to create whatever we want.

She comes from the region of Rumcajs and the sandstone gems of the Czech tableland, which could be said to be just a stone's throw from the "glass" Jizera Mountains. She remembers her first close meeting with Preciosa Ornela (at that time it was still called Jablonex) very well. It was at Jičín's Fairy Tale Festival, while she was still at grammar school. At that time she had already done a little (but really not much) beadwork. A few years later, she found herself in the vicinity of Preciosa once again thanks to a generous offer to decorate a new bead. At that time, the young lady would have considered what was to come later a fairy tale ... and now she is here, without any artistic education, but with an even greater desire and passion for her own creative work.

Apart from beadworking and making her own works, she also compiles tutorials. You can come across some of them, for example, in the magazines Digital beading, DIY Jewellery Making and also on the pages of Preciosa Ornela.
