A medal for PRECIOSA ORNELA

The Jablonec 2017 International Triennial of Glass and Costume Jewellery Prize 

PRECIOSA ORNELA's collection received a unique medal within the framework of the main exhibition of triennial project entitled TRENDS.DESIGN.PRODUCTION.

The five-member international commission consisting of a curator from a glass museum in Finland, teachers from the Academy in Wroclaw, Poland, the University of Applied Arts in Bratislava and the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and a representative of the Messe Frankfurt, which was the exhibition's partner, awarded the exclusive commemorative medal to a total of 17 selected collections.

 The medals designed by Hana Dýcková BA on the basis of a commission from the museum were created by Applied Arts Secondary School and Upper Secondary School in Jablonec nad Nisou.

PRECIOSA ORNELA's prize-winning collection contains a bracelet from the INFINITE POSSIBILITIES spring/summer 2017 trends symbolising the DNA helix, a necklace by the designer Karolína Emingrová containing PRECIOSA's new seed bead, the PRECIOSA cornelian star, and the Magic Fusion set of interior accessories.

More than 80 glass and costume jewellery brands, 25 glass artists and 20 specialist schools from a total of 12 countries, including the USA, attend the selective exhibition of contemporary Czech glass and costume jewellery. All of the collections (the prizewinning collections are labelled with stickers) can be admired at the exhibition in the main building of the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou until the end of October 2017.
