Procedure

Step 1

First make the teddy bear’s head (figure no. 1). String 5x R7 (59145) onto the line and tie it into a ring. Thread the line through the nearest R7 next to the knot and string 4x R7 (59145, 46112, 23980 and 59145). Then pass the line through the same rocaille and through the next one as well. String 3x R7 (59145, 23980 and 46112). Pass the line through the rocaille from the second ring and through two rocailles from the first ring according to the illustration. Add 3x R7 (59145). Pass the line through the side rocaille from the previous ring and through the two rocailles from the first ring. Repeat this process one more time. Create a connecting ring. Pass the line through the side rocaille from the first circle, string 2x R7 (59145) and then pass the line through the side R from the previous circle. Thread the line through to the edge of the semi-circle. String 3x R7 (1x 59145, 2x 46112) and pass the line through the side R from the second ring and the connecting ring. Pass the line through another outer R from the connecting ring and the neighbouring ring. String 2x R7 (59145) and connect them to the side and top R from the three rings in the semicircle. Repeat this one more time. Use the same principle for the next ring, but add 1x R7 (46112) and 1x R7 (59145). Connect the outer R from all five rings. This completes the ball.

Step 2

Continue with the creation of the teddy bear’s body (figure no. 2). The lower ring from the head is the upper ring from the body. At the beginning, proceed in the same way as with the head and create a semicircle. Add 46112 and 3x 59145 in the second ring, 3x 46112 in the third ring, 3x 59145 in the fourth ring, 3x 59145 in the fifth ring and 2x 59145 in the connecting ring. The further rings consist of 6x R7. The principle of threading and adding is the same, but it is not closed into a ball. The width remains the same. The adding in the rings consisting of 6x R is as follows: 4x 59145 in the first ring, 3x 59145 in the second ring, 3x 59145 in the third ring, 3x 46112 in the fourth row and 2x 46112 in the connecting ring.
Add the outer rings. The principle is once again similar. Add the new R and pass the line through the outer R7 from the previous rings: 2x 59145 and 2x 46112 in the first ring, 3x 59145 in the second ring, 3x 59145 in the third ring, 2x 46112 and 1x 59145 in the fourth ring and 2x 46112 in the connecting ring.

Step 3

Now add the legs (figure no. 3a). The line will be variously zigzagged through the figure. Add the lower legs to the first R7 (59145) next to the beige fragments. Thread the line through from the rear of the teddy bear. Also add the front legs immediately next to the beige fragments at the interface of the rings consisting of 5x and 6x R. Pass the line through the R and add 1x R10  (59145), 1x R7 (59145) and 1x R10 (59145). Pass the line through the same R one more time, but from the other side. Sew the nose onto the centre of the beige ring on the head (figure no. 3a). Pass the line through the side R from below. String 1x R7 (46112), 1x R10 (23980) and pass the line through the added R7 once again. Thread the line through the second side R from the top down. Thread the line through to the rear section of the head. Pay attention to the top ring and its side R. Gradually create the ears in this way (figure no. 3b). Come up to them from below. String 6x R10 (59145). Pass the line through one lower R from the neighbouring ring from below.
