Tricolor Seed Bead Set

Preciosa Ornela has prepared balls using PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads™ in the colors of the Czech tricolor. In order to expand the color range of the popular two-hole PRECIOSA Twin seed bead, Preciosa Ornela has created a variant involving two-hole pressed beads of the same shape and size which has enabled us to offer popular opaque colors which could not previously be made during seed bead production. The balls made with seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads™ brand consists of both variants of PRECIOSA Twin. We have combined them here with two-hole beads and seed beads without any problems. We wish you many happy hours of beadworking with seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads™ range!

Glue, a 0.20 mm line, a thin stringing needle; scissors; snipping pliers; flat-nosed pliers; 1 cm tricolor ribbon

Procedure

The necklace requires three balls to sewn from T, one in each color of the tricolor.

Step 1

Balls made from PRECIOSA Twin

This consists of six fragments which are then connected together.

The centre consists of a cross made of 4x T with a further 8x T are added in the next row. A total of 12x T are used in the second row. Tie 4x T together (figure no. 1) and pass the line through the second hole of the last T

1

Step 2

Add 2x between every T in the second row and pass the line through the second hole of the last T (figure no. 2) once again. String 1x T and pass the line through the second hole of the nearest to begin the next fragment.

2

Step 3

Continue by stringing 10x T and pass the line through the first T in this line again according to the drawing and then through its second hole (figure no. 3).

3

Step 4

Pull the internal 4 T together and pass the line through the holes of the T according to the drawings so that it is possible to continue in the stringing of the next fragments in the same way (figure no. 4a). Create the circumference of the ball from four fragments and sew them in a circle (figure no. 4b) which is then closed at the top and the bottom with the further fragments by adding 4x T on the lower side. Then tighten it into a bowl. Pass the line onto the second side according to the drawing (figure no. 4c), add 4x T, pass the line through the outer holes and place a 10 mm bead inside before pulling it into a ball. The ball consists of a total of six fragments. One ball requires a total of 50 T.

Step 5

Prepare the ribbon. Cut the length according to what you require: the sample is 15.5 cm. Apply the glue to the tube. Roll up the beginning of the ribbon, insert it in the tube and let it dry. Put the necklace together, link the balls and connect them with the ribbon. Attach the fastenings and add the carabiners and the adjusting chain with the linked end piece using the rings.

Step 6

Sew a tricolor ball onto the key ring: the lower section is blue, the centre is red and the top is white. Place a bead strung on an eye pin inside before sewing up the ball. Prepare the ribbon. Pass 12 cm through the ball’s eye. Roll up both ends and insert them in the tube with glue. Leave it to dry. Then attach the sewn ball.
