The winners of the fifth year of the Crystal Master competition were announced and presented with prizes during an afternoon awards ceremony held in the vestibule of the Jablonec Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery on 25th June. The competition for young designers is organised by Preciosa in cooperation with the Museum and the Czech Glass Association. The aim of the competition is to extend the cooperation between PRECIOSA and the various technical and artistic schools.

The designs sent to the competition were based on the theme of “the Crystal Aroma of Distance”. The specifications for the completion of the creative designs were divided into four categories: Preciosa Chandeliers, Preciosa Figures, Preciosa Ornela and Preciosa Components. Many of the designs made use of beads and seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads brand. The participants in the Preciosa Ornela category included Magdalena Kracík Štorkánová, who created a mosaic out of seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads brand. The overall winner was Tereza Fišarová, a student at the Jablonec nad Nisou Applied Arts Secondary School who created a Hobby project made from Preciosa components and seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads.
