A number of rocaille festivals are being held with increasing frequency at home and abroad for lovers of beadwork and seed beads. These festivals especially focus on the international exchange of experience from the area of beadwork. Preciosa Ornela has participated in some of these events in person, while she has supported others with seed beads and promotional material.
A number of rocaille festivals are being held with increasing frequency at home and abroad for lovers of beadwork and seed beads. These festivals especially focus on the international exchange of experience from the area of beadwork. The seed bead festivals not only serve as exhibitions of pieces of handmade jewellery and objects made predominantly from seed beads, but also as places selling these unique creations or offering materials for creative work. These festivals also include courses of seed bead sewing using various techniques for amateurs and professionals. We have participated in some of these events in person, while we have supported others with seed beads and promotional material.
In March of this year, the RokajlFest 2011 seed bead festival took place in Prague. Preciosa Ornela not only participated at this festival, but it also sponsored the prizes for the winner of the competition for the best jewellery made from seed beads. The creation of seed bead applications continued in April, once again in Prague, when the Bead Weekend (an international sales exhibition of components and original pieces of hand-made jewellery and items made of seed beads and other materials) took place. A series of workshops and presentations especially focussing on unique Farfalle seed beads took place in Toronto, Canada in the period from April to June. The program included both classic presentations with examples of the product range and sessions teaching the techniques for working with Farfalle beads in hobby costume jewellery. These presentations once again used PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads. The Czech lecturer Adéla Kodoňová contributed significantly to the promotion of our products.
